Vixen and her best friend

Vixen went into my bedroom this afternoon to sleep.  She curled up with Maggie and had a great sleep.  Yes, Maggie and Vixen are good friends already.

I so adore Vixen!  She is incredibly smart.  Usually a kitten of her age will stay in one area of the house and not be comfortable and easily know her way around the house which is a big area for a small kitten.  Last night I decided she could stay out in the house for the night and not be confined to the bathroom.  I woke up during the night to find her sleeping between my pillows.  She knew how to find me in the dark.  This morning she was sleeping under the covers with me.  Yes, a smart, smart kitten.

Vixen is precious!

Vixen is absolutely precious.  She is about 5 weeks old and has such a wonderful spirit.  She was thrown out on the highway so has injuries to her face.  She was very busy when she got here checking out the door hinge, drawer handles and toys in the bathroom.  She had a lot of energy then after quite a while settled down for a nap in her little bed which she loves.  She loves to purr when you hold her.  She has very bright eyes and loves to play.  She is a love.

sad update

My little boy died last night around 11 p.m.  I just couldn't get him warm and cold definitely kills a little one sooner than not eating.  I had him under the 90 degree heat lamps, wrapped him in a blanket and held him in my hands and wrapped him in a blanket on my tummy and under my covers in bed.  Once they get cold it is a hard battle but I was determined.  He was so cold when I got him.  He was extremely loved the last 8 hours of his life.
     I am meeting some people from out of town who are bringing in a "3 week" old kitten found on the highway.  It is using a litter box so I am suspicious of it being only 3 weeks old.  Yes, 3 week old kittens use the litter box but this makes me think it is older.  I will let you know after I get my baby this morning.

A baby who is needing lots of love

Welcome to my new little one.  He is indeed a tiny little one as he was born on May 23 two days ago.  I will get confirmation tomorrow that he is a little boy.  He is 100g and drinking a little from the bottle.  I wait for him to dig in and have his meal.  He was extremely cold when I got him and it has taken hours for him to warm up to where I am happy.  He is residing under the heat lamp and quite enjoying it. I have held him for hours since I got him.  Thank goodness he can't hear my singing.  I sing as I put my cheek on him so he thinks he has a mommy who is purring.  He can feel vibration and hopefully the love.  I will be getting up to him during the night as the little bit of milk he drinks is not enough to hold him strong for very long.  Every hour is a gift and hopefully many hours more to come.
